I specialise in Storytelling Pet Portraits.
If you'd like a pixel by pixel replica of your pet, I am not the Artist for you. I want to know all about the relationship between you and your pet. Together we will choose thoughtful details that immortalise their story, and the life they've led by your side. I strive to choose references that mean the world to you, but that just look like something pretty to anyone else.
My style is whimsical, and heavily influenced by my love of nature & folklore. I adore creating textures, and experimenting with homemade inks. I use a lot of coffee & spirulena in my backgrounds. And have also explored inks made from cabbage, beetroot, roses, and soot from my chimney. My papers are sustainably sourced bamboo, and I use colourfast pencils from Faber & Castell.
You may have previously found my works back when I traded as Orange Fruitcake Arts & Crafts, or BeckyJayne Illustrates.

Jack and Ben, By the Sea
A memorial immortalising two very special Jack Russells. Featuring nods to their holidays on the Welsh Coast, bladder-wrack seaweed and Welsh coastal flowers surround the framework, and the view between the portraits is based on a photograph taken from the side of their owners boat on one of thir many fishing trips.
Special thanks to Julie for commissioning this one!

Blaze, a Balance Between life & Death
This illustration was created for a Taxedery artist, who shares my love of the balance between light and dark. There's strong symbology and nature themes included in this piece. The sigil on Blaze's head is one I created for his name.

Louis and Pumpkin, Cats of the Library
Created for an Indie Author and School Teacher with a love of books. I tried to add in thoughtful references to some of her favourite books.
Lemmy, A Pirate's Life
This Pet Portrait Feature's Lemmy the Snake.
Taking inspiration from maps, a pirate captain's quarters, and Lemmy's owners love of World of Warcraft.
